The first day begins before the first meeting.
A thoughtful welcome package creates anticipation, provides orientation and makes company culture tangible before the new role begins.

A meaningful welcome
What a strong onboarding set can achieve
A welcome package cannot replace a strong onboarding process, but it can open that process visibly. Before the first calendar invitation begins, it communicates: we planned for your arrival, we are looking forward to it and we want to provide orientation.
Useful items create confidence
Products with a genuine connection to everyday work give the set substance. A notebook, drinkware, technical aids or starting information should suit the role and working style. Usefulness is stronger than a collection of interchangeable branded items.
Personal details create belonging
A card with the person's name, starting date and a specific welcome changes the effect of the entire package. Small choices—such as colour, dietary preference or delivery address—can also show that the individual has been considered.
Culture becomes visible through selection
Brand values should not appear only on an insert. They can be reflected in product provenance, design, tone and packaging. A company that values clarity should not create an overloaded gift. A collaborative culture may include shared rituals or team-related elements.
The right timing
Delivery a few days before the start, or a deliberately prepared handover on the first day, usually works best. Too early loses relevance; too late feels like an afterthought. Delivery should therefore be part of onboarding planning from the beginning.
Four elements of a coherent set
- a useful companion for everyday work,
- a personal element directly connected to the new colleague,
- clear information about the start and next steps,
- a selection and design aligned with the culture people actually experience.
